Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Junior Medical Physicist to join our team. Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP), support the Radiation Oncologists and Mountain View Hospital with the full range of applications of radiation physics for imaging, planning, and treatment delivery in all clinical settings where radiation patient care is delivered. Support the Mountain View Hospital in facilities that house radiation producing equipment with guidance to meet all federal and state guidelines for monitoring and safety under the supervision of a QMP. Performs and documents QA activities involving radiation devices and equipment. Perform patient chart checks for errors, prescription changes, and image review changes that may have occurred during treatment under the supervision of a QMP. Maintain and properly use dosimetry equipment (ionizing chambers, electrometers, water phantom scanning systems, daily check devices, ion chamber arrays, etc.). Assist the QMP in acceptance testing and calibration of new equipment. Perform external beam radiotherapy planning when needed, under the supervision of a QMP. Perform patient-specific QA of approved radiation treatment plans; QA and QC tasks may require evening work. Provide support for brachytherapy programs to ensure patient selection, treatment planning, equipment operability, radiation delivery, and documentation meet NRC, ACR, AAPM, and Idaho state regulations under supervision of a QMP. Assist the QMP with facility radiation safety tasks, including regulatory reporting, radiation surveys, shielding analysis, and personnel badge management. Participate in other technical activities under the direction of a QMP to ensure coverage during critical staff shortages. Benefits

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

Minimum of master’s degree in medical physics or related program from a CAMPEP-approved program, graduation from CAMPEP approved residency or equivalent. Experience:

Work experience is preferred, but not required. Equipment/Technology:

Experience with Eclipse and Aria is preferred. Language/Communication:
