General Summary:
This role is responsible for generating sound concepts to solve challenges in the design, manufacturing, deployment and continuous improvement of dry products packaging machines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Understands machine requirements through project kick-off activities, interfacing with the customer, the design envelope, manufacturing process and material capabilities, tolerance stack up conditions, styling goals, and how these drive every surface and feature of every part. Creates mathematically verified concepts to resolve packaging challenges. Evaluates and selects components for the products. Evaluates material, stress/strain, vibration constraints that effect design and provide that information resource to teammates Redesigns standard products or product line expansions, improving quality and productivity, while reducing costs Designs new or specialized integrations/modifications in accordance with theoretically established specifications as to size, capacities, performance or other requirements as needed.
Education and Experience/Skills Required:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and seven to ten years of experience or equivalent. Autodesk Inventor and Vault or equivalent in other similar software. Proficient in creating 3D and 2D detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor for highly technical, complicated and precise designs with a diversified range of components. Proven ability to effectively select production material / finish / process / design concept by as measured by meeting the customers performance, durability, reliability, and cost targets
