Assist the OR team in patient, equipment and supply care Provide care for birth to pediatric, pediatric/child (1–11 yr), adolescent (12–17 yr), adult (18–64 yr), and geriatric (65+ yr) patients Handle instruments, supplies and equipment during procedures Understand the procedure and anticipate surgeon needs Ensure quality patient care and maintain sterility throughout the operation Assist the surgeon or assistant in tasks such as sponging, suctioning, cutting sutures, holding retractors and manipulating the endoscopic camera during the second scrub role Distinguish the role from the first scrub and surgical first assistant Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT) program Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA preferred Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire Competence as first scrub in at least three of the following specialty areas: robotic, total joint, neuro/spine, vascular surgery Job Details
