Cincinnati, OH, United States Responsibilities

Uses age- and population-appropriate communication. Demonstrates knowledge of growth, development, and psychosocial milestones. Provides clear instructions to patients/families and involves them in care. Responds appropriately to behavioral health, cultural, and spiritual needs. Safely administers medications, treatments, and equipment. Recognizes and reports signs of abuse or neglect. Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and admission histories. Identifies actual and potential patient problems, prioritizing care needs. Reassesses and updates care plans regularly based on patient condition. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Initiates discharge planning on admission and coordinates appropriate referrals. Provides and/or delegates care in alignment with policies and standards. Ensures safe and timely execution of physician orders. Educates patients and families based on individualized needs. Responds effectively to emergencies and urgent situations. Continuously evaluates care outcomes and modifies interventions as needed. Maintains continuity of care during transitions and handoffs. Accurately and timely documents assessments, care, interventions, and outcomes. Completes admission, transfer, and discharge documentation as required. Records patient/family education and response. Demonstrates accountability and flexibility in assignments. Serves as Charge Nurse when assigned, ensuring safe and fair assignments. Supports, coaches, and mentors staff and new team members. Promotes a positive and professional work environment. Monitors compliance with unit standards and provides feedback. Manages workload efficiently and within unit productivity targets. Adheres to scheduling, attendance, and staffing guidelines. Supports safe and cost-effective use of resources. Adjusts to unit needs, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts. Collaborates with leadership to balance staffing based on census and acuity. Qualifications

Minimum of one year of nursing experience required; additional clinical experience preferred. Licenses and Certifications

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to patient contact. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), telemetry certification, and/or specialty certification in medical-surgical, orthopedic, critical care, or gerontological nursing preferred. Membership in a professional nursing organization desirable but not required. Experience
