Indiana University Health has an exciting opportunity for a

Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) ,

Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

to work in our inpatient

OB Emergency Department (OBED)

at the

Riley Children's Health

in

Indianapolis, IN .

Position Details

Full Time

12 or 24-hour shifts

Rotating nights/weekends/holidays

No call

100% inpatient

Patient population: Pregnant women seeking urgent care for obstetrical and possibly non-obstetrical needs. All Gestational ages are seen through the OBED. Both routine and high-risk patients.

Expected patient volume in hospital: 15-20 patients per 24-hour shift

Work directly with 5-7 physicians and 1-2 APPs

Responsibilities

Overseeing patients at any gestational age in the OBED; evaluating, diagnosing, treating and guiding patient care for pregnancy or non-pregnancy related needs.

A midwife in OBED will also support with labor, births, postpartum rounds, etc. as needed and when available (secondary role to OBED).

A collaborative approach to care with the Laborist team.

The Laborists are assuming a higher volume of patients due to provider departures in groups outside of IU Health.

Qualifications

Master's Degree Required

Must be PA, ACNP, FNP, WHNP or CNM Certified

APP experience in women's health or OB setting - preferably in a High-Risk OB facility.

At least 1-2 years APP experience providing care to pregnant and postpartum patients preferred

IU Health and IU School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology physicians deliver at the Maternity Tower at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN.
