Administers safe and accurate radiation therapy treatment. Ensure accurate treatment delivery and data capture; demonstrate sound clinical judgment and adhere to treatment and simulation delivery. Prepare room and equipment for patient; gather necessary setup aids; support scheduling and throughput of treatment/simulation units. Maintain treatment and simulation records and data; set treatment unit parameters. Operate complex radiation-emitting treatment units with manual dexterity and adapt to changes in work schedule or area as patient load dictates. Monitor patient during therapy and report any unusual reactions to the radiation oncologist; explain procedures to patients and families; refer to allied health professionals as needed. Perform and maintain Quality Assurance activities. Quality Assurance and Competency

Comply with departmental QA practices; verify consent forms and maintain daily treatment records and machine QA. Notify physics or engineering if measurements fall outside parameters; report equipment issues to supervisor or Engineering staff. Review records for discrepancies between prescription, treatment plan, and amendments; participate in planning clinic as assigned. Maintain competency management and participate in clinical instruction/evaluation. Education and Licensure

Education: Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program in Radiation Therapy or equivalent. Certification/Licensure: ARRT certification and registration in Radiation Therapy and Texas Medical Board license (TMB). Additional Information
