Qualifications: BCLS within 120 days of employment Experience scrubbing in multiple specialties preferred Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required Must communicate effectively in English Radiology / Cath Lab Only: 6 months experience in angiography preferred Experience with PTA, PTCA, laser PTA/PTCA, and intra-aortic balloon pump INTEGRIS Health Grove Hospital Only: Ensures instruments are decontaminated and stored properly Completes sterilization procedures per manufacturer and hospital guidelines Prepares and documents sterilization charts and logs Completes high-level disinfectant process education annually Certifications: Tech in Surgery - Certified (NCCT), TS-C (NCCT) CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) - NATL Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintaining sterile field Understanding procedures and anticipating needs Ensuring patient safety and quality care Checking supplies and equipment Setting up sterile field Performing counts prior to incision and closing Gowning and gloving surgeon and assistants Assisting in draping Passing instruments and sharps Proper disposition of specimens Maintaining sterile technique Preparing dressings and sterilizing instruments Assisting with room cleaning and prep for next patient Transporting medications if needed Potentially performing as a Certified Surgical First Assistant if enrolled in a program This position may have additional physical or respiratory requirements. Potential exposure to infections, chemicals, and sharps; standard precautions must be followed.
