Sentara is hiring an experienced Radiation Therapist II at Norfolk General Hospital, in Norfolk Virginia. This position will provide support to our Hampton Roads Hospitals to include Norfolk General, Virginia Beach General, Obici, Careplex, Brock Cancer Center, Princess Anne, and Albemarle. Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 offered for qualified candidates. Responsibilities
Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Deliver external beam radiotherapy (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT). Deliver brachytherapy treatment. Perform patient simulations; prepare equipment such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices. Review patient records for accuracy. Act as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel. Maintain patient records, reports, and files. Qualifications
Education: Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology REQUIRED. Certification/Licensure: ARRT Certification REQUIRED. Experience: Minimum of 3 years Radiation Therapy experience REQUIRED. Experience with pediatric center competencies, SRS/SBRT, simulation, and other listed competencies may be considered for advancement from Radiation Therapist I, with the appropriate competencies and licensures. Additional Competency Requirements (selected)
Pediatric Center: EBRT/Sim competencies Clinical Coordinator-RTT Students: Preceptor/clinical coord SRS/SBRT: General SRS/SBRT competencies Simulation Tech: General Sim Competency, IV Start Competency Second Licensure (CT, MRI, R): Proof of second licensure Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of an Associate degree will be considered.
