LVPN Nursing Instructor – Weekend Clinical Instructor (6:30a-3p)
This position pays $50 per hour.
Overview
The instructor’s primary responsibilities are to provide active and effective learning for students in all applicable educational settings, act as a professional and academic role model, and commit to student satisfaction. This includes teaching in classrooms, labs, and outside the classroom during campus and student activities. The position delivers high-quality instruction by combining theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience, developing and implementing curriculum, assessing student progress, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. Responsibilities
Organize and deliver class objectives in a clear, concise manner Foster and maintain an orderly, controlled, and safe environment for students in classrooms and labs Maintain and prepare training aids, tools, and equipment in the classroom and lab Maintain curriculum accuracy by staying up to date on industry standards and practices Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and practical assessments Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them achieve academic and professional success Identify and report on at-risk students; create individualized success plans to mitigate attrition Foster relationships with students to help them meet program competency requirements Provide periodic and ad-hoc reporting to stakeholders Meet with students and education personnel to discuss instructional programs and related issues Provide and maintain regular, substantive interaction with students in online course components Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress Deliver engaging lectures and lab sessions on assigned topics, diagnostic procedures, equipment operation and troubleshooting Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Licenses/Certifications
Unencumbered and active RN or LVN license in the state where instruction occurs (California) LVN Instructors must have state certification to teach LVNs must have 5 years of clinical experience RNs must have 3 years of recent clinical experience Ability to drive to/from clinical sites Education/Experience
Associate degree (required); Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred Direct and specialized knowledge in clinical instruction required Standard Skills
Expertise in the area of assignment with the ability to provide instruction Design and deliver engaging educational content, adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles Build rapport with students, clinical partners, and colleagues Stay current with industry advancements and incorporate new knowledge into teaching practices Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective instruction Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth Standard Abilities
Frequently (80%+): use hearing and sight; communicate with students and provide direct instruction Occasionally (up to 50%): use fine motor skills to operate computers and equipment Rarely ( Additional abilities: communicate, think, learn, reason; use computers; safely ambulate on site; active listening and reasoning Work Environment
Indoor, climate-controlled environment when on site; safe ambulation on campus On-campus and site locations with diverse learning environments; follow safety precautions and PPE requirements On-site or on-campus designation to meet business needs Travel to and from clinical sites Other
