Responsibilities
Performs customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Manages large call volumes and assists patients with non-clinical questions and/or concerns.
Supports patient intake, accurately enters patient demographics, history and order information into the practice management system(s).
Completes referrals to specialty providers, home health, etc., where needed.
Arranges for the proper delivery of the medication when needed.
Processes insurance: verifies eligibility and benefits and records information in Excellian; supports prior authorizations and formulary exceptions when needed; helps facilitate financial support and prescription assistance for patients.
Tracks patients and medication utilization; may participate in accreditation maintenance and safety/quality programs.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
0 to 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Preferred Qualifications
Vocational or Technical Training from an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician program
2 to 5 years of experience with advanced knowledge of insurance processing, prior authorizations and formulary resolutions
Licenses/Certifications
Registered Pharmacy Technician - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire
Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required within 180 days
Physical Demands
Sedentary work
Lifting up to 10 lbs occasionally; negligible weight frequently
Full-time equivalent (FTE) 7, schedule 56 hours every two-week period
8-hour day/evening shifts; occasional weekends

Pre-employment This role requires that all external and internal applicants successfully pass a drug test before beginning work. A positive test result and/or refusal to submit to testing will result in disqualification of further employment consideration.
Pay Range Pay Range: $24.08 to $33.00 per hour. The base hiring pay range depends on factors including experience, education, and union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase pay rate for certain shifts or work.
