Overview

The University of Missouri's School of Medicine, Department of Neurology is expanding and searching for a full-time Physician Assistant to join our inpatient neurology services. This is an excellent career opportunity for candidates to join a thriving academic neurolog y department. As a Comprehensive Stroke Center and premier referral hub for the surrounding 22 counties and beyond, we offer a rich array of challenging and exciting cases. Working alongside residents and attending physicians, we foster a team-based approach to patient care with thriving clinical and educational opportunities. (This position is linked to Job ID 57521 Nurse Practitioner Specialty Care - Neurology - Hospitalist and multiple positions will be filled.)

Responsibilities

Work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals to provide care to neurological patients in an inpatient setting. Communicate with physicians about changes in patients\' clinical conditions, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Respond quickly and accurately to changes of conditions. Perform treatments and interventions; conduct teaching and counseling of patients and families; and facilitate clinical research. Also requires basic computer skills; problem solving, willingness and ability to learn new skills and methods; ability to perform the range of duties in a variety of work settings.

A dedicated 28-bed Neurosciences Center with 6 bed EMU 30-bed Neurosciences ICU AANEM Lab Accreditation with Exemplary Status Level IV Epilepsy program Comprehensive Stroke Center MDA/ALS clinics An accredited Sleep Program First Adult Certified Duchenne Care Center by PPMD.

Shift

Full time hours, shifts will vary

Minimum qualifications

Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

Preferred qualifications

Specialty certificate by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Nephrology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $99,174.40- $161,720.00 annually Grade: PAT - 013 University Title: PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT SPECIALTY CARE II Internal applicants can determine their university title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
