CT Technologist - PRN at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare since 1917. The CT Technologist assists physicians and performs radiological, paramedical, and clerical duties required in patient care. Works under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor and physicians and is primarily responsible for helping with the daily operations of the CT department.
Responsibilities
Prepares room, equipment, contrast media and materials as needed for procedures.
Maintains clean and stocked CT procedure room daily.
Properly warms CT equipment daily and ensures equipment is functioning properly.
If equipment is not functioning properly, notifies the appropriate person.
Prepares patient for CT procedure — explains procedure, transfers patient to examination table, positions patient correctly, and assists patient at end of procedure.
Labels scans appropriately and uses proper patient ID on film prior to development of film.
Performs general clerical, file room, darkroom, and transportation duties when needed to fulfill department workload.
Practices patient care according to ARMC policy.
Assists Radiologists during procedures and takes scans as requested.
Knowledgeable in proper sequence of scheduling exams for the entire Radiology department.
Considers age-related factors in obtaining images or performing imaging studies and applies knowledge from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Regularly accepts additional work during periods of low patience and demonstrates willingness to assist others in the department as requested.
Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all data and information 100% of the time.
Knows and implements radiation safety procedures when working with radiation-producing equipment 100% of the time.
Reads and reviews all material in department manuals annually.
Ensures patient charges are assigned to the appropriate person and entered into RMS in a timely and accurate manner.
Knows and maintains the measures described in the Universal Protocol policy.
Sends images to PACS appropriately and verifies availability for interpretation in a timely manner.
Knows the proper method of using CT power injectors.
Rotates to other imaging departments as needed; participates in holiday and on-call rotation requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Job Requirements:
Successful completion of a radiological program or equivalent military training
BLS (or obtained within 90 days of employment)
Current active or temporary South Carolina license issued by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association and current RT registration.
One year experience working in preferred. CT experience in the clinical setting is required.
