Overview
Full-Time RN or LPN – NOC Shift – 3,000 Sign-On Bonus. The withdrawal management/urgent care nurse joins a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of providers, CMAs, techs & case managers to provide inpatient care to patients withdrawing from drugs and alcohol. This position provides experience in dual diagnosis care and acute stabilization. Nurses have the opportunity to gain specialized skills in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders; skills that have become highly valued and critical to a wide variety of health care settings. Position Summary The withdrawal management/urgent care nurse is the heart of an interdisciplinary team of providers, CMAs, techs & case managers who provide inpatient care to patients withdrawing from drugs and alcohol. The Withdrawal Management Nurse provides nursing support, assessment and care for patients withdrawing from drugs and alcohol. This position is the first line support for patients, staff, Nurse Practitioners and the Medical Director on service specific clinical issues.

Responsibilities
Have a basic knowledge of substance use disorders
Recognize the importance of family, social networks, and community systems in the treatment and recovery process

Uphold the highest standard of customer service to patients, referents and all community partners
Provide nursing care and assessments for patients in withdrawal management per staffing ratios
Collaborate with the treatment team on clinical and non-clinical issues
Support admission screenings for medical appropriateness and review patient histories
Obtain medical information, perform risk assessments, and conduct comprehensive nursing assessments
Monitor vital signs, perform CIWA-Ar and COWS scales, and other assessments as appropriate
Administer medications per policies and orders; review orders and document accurately
Maintain documentation in patient records; manage controlled substances per policy
Educate patients on health guidelines and continuum of care in A&D treatment and withdrawal symptoms
Coordinate referrals and collaborate with outside providers to optimize continuum of care
Ensure privacy compliance (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2) and maintain professional boundaries
Qualifications Education and Experience Required
Current Oregon Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license
Current BLS CPR & 1st Aid Certification
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Have basic knowledge of substance use disorders
Recognize the importance of family, social networks, and community systems in treatment and recovery
Demonstrate understanding of self-awareness, diversity and ethics in treatment
Ability to follow verbal and written directions and apply relevant techniques
Knowledge of nursing theory and practice; knowledge of chemical dependency and treatment methods
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; strong organization and attention to detail
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and meet industry standards
Initiative, problem solving, and effective communication skills
Team development skills
Other Requirements
Verification of Sobriety per Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) standards
DHS Background Check Approval
Successful completion of Drug Test upon hire
Documentation of Tuberculin test and/or evaluation with negative results or non‑communicability
Working Conditions
Indoor office environment with periodic travel between sites or to events
Possible exposure to communicable diseases and potentially hostile or emotionally disturbed individuals
Overtime may be required; shifts include day, swing and graveyard; weekends and holidays possible
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, body fluids, sharps; PPE provided
