Provides direct nursing care, alongside a coach, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Transitions to RN Resident II upon successful completion of the core curriculum. Cleveland Clinic’s new Neurological Institute, scheduled to open in 2026, will be a state-of-the-art facility that makes it easier to treat high-acuity patients — those suffering from brain tumors, strokes, and complex spine injuries — without them ever having to leave the facility. Part of the new Neurological Institute is a 210-bed inpatient area with enhancements including modular spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows in all-private rooms, video technology to monitor patients, and a “touchdown” space with computers between every two rooms on inpatient floors, as well as relaxing lavender rooms to decompress. The M80 Neuro Transitional Care Unit is a highly specialized and diverse unit providing treatment for neurological med/surg patients needing stepdown and intermediate levels of care. Nurses perform complex neurological procedures such as intracranial pressure monitoring, seizure monitoring, lumbar punctures, and line placements. Nurses promote early patient mobility with modern equipment like ceiling lifts. After six months, nurses may float to other med/surg units. This position works nights, from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. A successful candidate will: Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs. Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach. Establish and revise patient care priorities based on acuity, preferences, and resources. Respond to data indicating patient risk and take appropriate action. Seek supervision and assistance when needed. Document patient care in medical records. Minimum qualifications include: Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Current RN licensure in the state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA. New graduate RN or less than one year of RN experience. Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Learn more about our benefits:
