This position is responsible for providing speech-language pathology services to a pediatric population, from neonate to adolescent, including evaluation and treatment in the areas of communication and swallowing. Position Duties

Evaluates and treats patients with communication and swallowing disorders/delays, demonstrating knowledge of normal growth and skills necessary to provide age appropriate services. Uses pediatric based behavior management strategies and matches diagnostic/therapeutic interventions to age and disability of the child. Establishes appropriate treatment plan with age-appropriate goals and target timeframes, which are discussed with family and mutually agreed upon Maintains appropriate documentation per the Policies & Procedures Manual in compliance with JCAHO and CARF standards, including participation in Total Quality Management. Builds and maintains rapport within the department, hospital, and community, professionally interacting with physician, families, and hospital/community personnel. Evaluates recommended needs for equipment and supplies. Assists in the monitoring of speech pathology students Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested. Position Qualifications

Education Masters Degree (or higher) in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited university Experience Pediatric experience Additional Requirements AZ Department of Health Services license (must be obtained prior to start date) AZ Department of public safety fingerprint clearance card (must be obtained prior to start date) Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association ASHA certification or in clinical fellowship year (CFY) Certification / License / Registry Requirements For The Position Basic Life Support - Required AZ Audio & Speech Lang License - Required Fingerprint Clearance Card - Required American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certification or Clinical Fellowship Year - Required Physical Requirements & Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential Physical Requirements include climbing, fine motor skills, hearing, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, stooping/crouching/kneeling/crawling, talking, tasting/smelling, walking, near/far vision, color discrimination, use of keyboard/computer equipment — frequent or constant as specified Lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; occasionally lift more than 35 pounds Occupational exposure to airborne/bloodborne pathogens, fumes or hazardous materials By applying to this position you acknowledge that you have reviewed the qualifications, physical requirements, and occupational exposure/risk potential for this role.
