Overview
CenterWell Home Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for home health services. The role focuses on helping patients regain strength, mobility and independence in their homes through rehabilitation and functional improvement. Compensation includes base pay and potential per-visit pay, depending on location and experience.
Responsibilities
Administer the physical therapy treatment plan as developed by the Physical Therapist.
Administer non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, cold, water, and electrical modalities to patients.
Accurately document daily, weekly, or monthly records of clients and submit clinical paperwork to the office on time each week.
Attend educational meetings and contribute to department in-services.
Notify the physical therapist or Executive Director of equipment failures, supply shortages, staff or client changes, and other departmental matters.
Schedule clients and perform varied office tasks.
Apply concepts of infection control and universal precautions in patient care activities.
Accept clinical assignments consistent with education and competence.
Promote compliance with fiscal intermediaries and third-party payors through education and support as necessary.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an American Physical Therapy Association program.
Current state license to practice Physical Therapy Assistant.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
Proof of current CPR certification.
Minimum two years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
Comprehensive knowledge of changes in the geriatric population across physical, emotional, social, and biological domains.
Self-directed, enthusiastic, and receptive to constructive feedback.
Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
Professional image and attitude for patients, families, coworkers, and others.
Meets mandatory continuing education requirements and maintains clinical competency in Physical Therapy practice and theory.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally.
Maintains confidentiality and current licensure certifications; completes required continuing education.
Must read, write, and speak fluent English; good attendance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Pay and Schedule
Base pay range: $64,200.00/yr - $88,000.00/yr
Pay per visit/unit: $41.00 - $57.00
Scheduled weekly hours: 40
