General Neurology MD - Portsmouth VA Bon Secours Mercy Health in the coastal region of Hampton Roads/Tidewater Virginia is currently adding a General Neurologist to join their existing practice at Bon Secours Neuroscience Center. Practice Locations: Harbour View Health Center – Norfolk/Suffolk, VA | Maryview Medical Center – Portsmouth, VA Responsibilities
Provide outpatient service and follow-up care to discharged patients. Provide hospital consults and weekly inpatient follow-up coverage at Maryview Medical Center (one week per month). Focus on reading EEG studies and performing EMGs; care for stroke and neurophysiology cases. Clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (5 8-hour days). New consults: average 6 per day; patient volumes in clinic: 18–20 per day (adult/geriatric). Call coverage: 1 week per month inpatient at MMC; hospital consults; no stroke coverage (telemedicine available). During inpatient weeks, outpatient clinic services are paused. 1:1 CMA:MD and APC support in clinic. EPIC EMR; MyChart for virtual visits as needed; DAX AI ambient charting available. Abundant referrals and patient volume; expect a quick ramp-up. Occasional training rotations by local medical students. Qualifications
Completed a U.S.-based Residency. Board-eligible/Board-certified by ABMS. Authorized to work in the U.S. Current and unrestricted Virginia medical license, or eligible to obtain Virginia licensure. Compensation & Benefits
