Provide oversight of the operations of the Central Monitoring Unit, including resolution of concerns related to human resources, telemetry capacity, scheduling, and equipment functionality. Serve as a communication liaison with all departments that provide telemetry monitoring. Manage departmental processes that support accurate record keeping, observation of telemetry monitors, and prompt identification and escalation of cardiac rhythm changes to appropriate nursing personnel. May perform the duties of a Monitor Technician as needed. In the absence of the manager, may assume 24-hour responsibility for the department. Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with one (1) year of nursing experience in the area of specialty. Associates Degree with three (3) years’ clinical experience OR Bachelor’s in Nursing with two (2) years’ clinical experience. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions; good problem-solving skills. Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on department needs. Demonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretation. Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or CCT within 6 months of employment. Preferred
1 year supervisory experience preferred. National certification in specialty area. Seniority level
