Overview
Summary: Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. This position involves patient care where required.
Responsibilities
Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
Assists with basic hygiene tasks, including bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them.
Assists with turning and repositioning patients in bed and helps move between the bed and a wheelchair if needed.
Listens to health concerns patients may have and reports those concerns to the nurses.
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services preferred
Nursing Assistant [LNA - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board of Nursing preferred
Experience Experience working in patient care/elder care 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong patient/customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.
