Podiatry Nurse Practitioner Job with Intermountain Health in Ogden, UT This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other activities as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate. As part of that patient care, this position is accountable to: deliver optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others; consultation with other healthcare providers; and maintain current knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care and outcomes.

Job Description Summary Nurse Practitioner opening at a busy Surgical Foot and Ankle practice based at McKay-Dee Hospital and Layton Hospital. This NP will work independently in an outpatient setting alongside surgical podiatrists. Responsibilities include seeing post-operative patients, holding return office visits, and consulting on cases. Common cases include fractures, total ankle replacements, bunions, hammer toe, at-risk foot care, etc. This is a full-time, fully benefits-eligible position. We anticipate this provider to work standard working hours (M-F; 8am-5pm), with a potential to work 4x10's. There is no required call time. An ideal candidate will have prior orthopedic, foot and ankle, and/or wound care experience.

Job Essentials

Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;

Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;

Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;

Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others;

Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;

Consultation with other healthcare providers;

Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;

Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

Certification as a Nurse Practitioner

Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V

Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V

BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers

Other Certification As Required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP) Physical Requirements

Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication and quick accurate understanding of spoken information.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment.

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Location Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital, Ogden, Utah

Schedule 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm. Potential for 4x10 shift work. No required on‑call time.

Compensation Hourly range: $56.76–$87.59, dependent upon experience.
