ECMO ICU Opportunities The ECMO ICU is looking for experienced ECMO RNs who strive to deliver the highest quality care for our ECMO population. Come join our ELSO Platinum Center of Excellence program. The ECMO ICU RN is competent in all mechanical circulatory devices including percutaneous and implantable ventricular assist devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy and ECMO. Our team is dedicated, efficient, inspiring and committed to providing elite extracorporeal care. ECMO ICU Patient Population:
All ECLS patients receiving VA, VV, VP, VA-V, RVAD and ECPR therapies. Disease processes include postcardiotomy syndrome, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, pre and post heart/lung transplant, ARDS, and post cardiac arrest. Patient Ratios:
1:1 RN to ECMO patient Department Specifics:
10 dedicated ECMO beds located inside CTTICU, dedicated ICU physicians and ACNP coverage 24/7, 100% certification rate (CCRN, CSC), multiple research trials and publications, and one of two NTX ECMO programs with ECMO Specialist RN led transport teams. Seasonal Commitment Information Seasonal weekly requirements are full-time shifts/hours for the 13-week contract (excludes the first week of orientation). $1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time. $51/hr seasonal rate. Weekend requirements are the same as regular full-time. The first week is Monday-Friday orientation. Although this is a short-term (13-week) assignment, you would be Baylor employee (not contractual). The goal is to convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role after the assignment. Registered Nurse Requirements Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program License/Certification RN - Registered Nurse, minimum 1 year CVICU BLS - Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire) ACLS - American Heart Association CCRN - through AACN Baylor Scott & White Health is the most awarded system in Texas.
