EMT: Emergency Medical Technician | GMR Careers
Global Medical Response (GMR) is proud to be an authorized provider of the DOD SkillBridge program, offering Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training and internships.
Under the SkillBridge program, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active-duty obligated service. The SkillBridge Program with GMR will run for 90 days.
We’re hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for our DOD SkillBridge Fellowship to respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high-quality care, treatment, and customer service to patients.
Responsibilities
Assess patients, determine necessary care, and deliver emergency services using appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
Document patient information, condition, and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
Ensure a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
Use EMT skills to provide care, including communication, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, and office tools.
Operate an ambulance in accordance with safety policies and traffic laws.
Collaborate professionally with health and public safety personnel and fellow EMTs.
Other Responsibilities
Participate in community programs to enhance AMR's community relations.
Minimum Qualifications
Current active-duty service member.
Meet DoD SkillBridge qualifications.
Available for 90 days.
Obtain approval from your unit commander; participation can be terminated if mission requirements change.
Work remotely within the continental US.
High school diploma or GED.
State EMT license (if applicable).
State driver’s license.
BLS, NREMT certification.
Driving record compliant with company policy.
Pass Physical Agility Test.
Some healthcare work experience preferred.
