Orthopedic Upper Extremity NP / PA – Emory Healthcare
Emory Orthopedics has an opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) focused on ongoing orthopedic care in our Musculoskeletal Institute. Overview: This position serves a thriving practice and requires someone with 2+ years of experience, preferably in upper extremity work. Our APPs are an integral part of the Emory Healthcare Integrated Academic Health Care System. Responsibilities
Assist in evaluation and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician and perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, including cast application and removal, wound suturing, and dressing changes. Document the delivery of care in the patient\'s medical records. Conduct patient interviews and document histories, health status, and medical problems or potential problems. Assist physicians in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment. Order, schedule, and/or perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures such as urinalyses, pregnancy tests, blood tests, and X-rays. Communicate the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled procedures to patients. Minimum Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the ANCC (or equivalent) or certified as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA. Licensed as appropriate in Georgia. May require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high-acuity clinical specialties. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Healthcare Provider certifications required; ACLS may be required in some areas. Benefits & About Emory Healthcare
