System Float Pool RN PRN Shifts Available - Days/Nights
PRN shifts available across multiple departments, schedules and managers. Qualified applicants w ill be interviewed for and considered for positions into units where skills and interests are determined to be a best match.

Responsibilities
People Essential Functions
Uses therapeutic communication to establish a relationship with patients, families and the inter-professional health care team to collaborate on the plan of care.
Contributes to teamwork by awareness of unit acuity, offering assistance, and responding positively to requests for help. Collaborates with the inter-professional health care team and applies feedback to improve patient outcomes.
Implements staff education specific to patient populations and unit processes; coaches and mentors other staff and students. May include preceptorship. Uses peer-to-peer accountability for department scorecard outcomes.
Service Essential Functions
Follows patient- and family-centered care standards; conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, and maintains medical records.
Develops and communicates plan of care, including discharge planning, with patient, family and inter-professional team. Prioritizes care based on patient needs and advocates for patients and families.
Provides patient teaching based on learning needs and evaluates understanding. Plans for post-discharge care accordingly.
Supports patient satisfaction goals through service standards and accountability.
Quality/Safety Essential Functions
Follows standards of care related to nursing process and regulatory requirements. Documents accurately to support core measures and patient safety outcomes.
Coordinates care for complex patients with the inter-professional team using clinical judgment and evidence-based practice.
Improves quality and safety scores through peer-to-peer accountability and teamwork.
Finance Essential Functions
Manages time effectively, documents care timely, minimizes incidental overtime, and prioritizes daily tasks. Assists in unit resource utilization planning.
Contributes to meeting department financial targets by improving efficiency and throughput per unit guidelines.
Growth/Innovation Essential Functions
Identifies areas for innovation and improvement using evidence-based practice and performance improvement projects. Supports shared governance initiatives.
Champions new care pathways or service line implementations to improve service; researches changes and presents options to leadership.

Education
Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing
Work Experience
Two years of Registered Nurse experience in a healthcare environment
Licenses And Certifications - Required
RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days OR
RN-Temp - Temporary State Licensure within 60 days AND
BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
Other credentials and certifications as defined by unit/service line
Licenses And Certifications - Preferred
Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification in applicable specialty area
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Demonstrates the skills and competencies to safely perform the assigned job with ongoing assessments and competency checks.
Sufficient proficiency in English to perform essential job functions and patient safety activities.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and the health care team with a customer service focus.
Strong assessment, organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and apply clinical reasoning.
Proficient time management; working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
