To provide comfort and proper care to patients of all ages in a professional manner; to perform duties involved in areas of magnetic resonance imaging equipment proficiently, with regard to customer, self and health team member safety, in the making of optimal quality scans of designated portions of the body. Must have working knowledge of magnetic resonance for the diagnosis of diseases. The MR Technologist supports and participates in quality improvement activities. The MR Technologist reports to the Imaging Director. Responsibilities Interviews patient to ensure their safety and ability to cooperate during the MRI exam. Prepares the patient for the MRI procedure. Performs the MRI procedure in an informed and expedient manner. Demonstrates appropriate preparation of work Demonstrates proficiency in operating auxiliary MRI equipment. Coordinates all activities within the MRI area. Provides safe environment for customers and self. Works as assigned according to department and imaging center policies. Manages patient information confidentially, accurately and timely. Represents the department and facility in a positive manner and ensures professional development. Communicates with customers and healthcare team members in a courteous and professional manner. Practices cost effective means with equipment. Provides clinical instruction to support personnel. Qualifications Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology. Registration by the ARRT in MR preferred. Current Radiology Technologist license in State of Ohio. Graduate of accredited School of Radiology Technology. Magnetic Resonance experience of at least two years preferred PACS experience preferred. CPR certification within 3 months of hire and keeps certification current.
