Primary Purpose

The Speech‑Language Pathologist will provide a variety of evaluation services, deliver comprehensive information to parents, teachers, administrators, and other school personnel regarding students’ strengths and needs, oversee internship training and supervision of Speech‑Language Pathology Assistants, and provide staff development as requested. Responsibilities

Perform speech and language evaluations for students within federal and state timelines. Write full and individual evaluation reports in accordance with state regulations and professional standards. Collect and organize evaluation data from students, teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and external resources. Attend ARD committee meetings to interpret test results and assist in developing instructional strategies to meet students’ educational needs. Analyze current data to write appropriate IEP goals and objectives. Collaborate with ARD committee to provide professional expertise during Manifestation Determination Review meetings. Supervise Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant when applicable. Assist teachers and administrators with implementation of IEP requirements. Review and accept evaluation reports for transfer students within the 30‑school day timeline. Plan and provide individual and group therapy consistent with IEP goals. Document student progress and determine readiness for termination of therapy services. Provide professional development to help school personnel identify and understand communication deficits in students. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding therapy goals and student needs. Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited college or university. One year supervised clinical experience preferred; two years unsupervised clinical experience preferred; school‑based experience preferred; one year supervision of SLP‑A preferred. Valid Texas license as a Speech‑Language Pathologist granted by SBESLPA and valid Texas Education Agency speech‑therapy certificate. Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech‑language disorders and conditions. Ability to use accepted tests and measurements to assess communication disorders. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit and use the wrists, hands, and fingers. Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance. May lift or move up to 25 pounds. Work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time. Vision: close, distance, color, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment

Close proximity to other employees and frequent interruptions. Extended periods of viewing a computer screen. Noise levels moderate to high. May travel between schools and/or district offices. Salary

Starting salary: $65,000.00 per year. Application Procedure
