for a growing new division of a well-established chemical company in SE Houston. The Lab Technician will assist in achieving the laboratory and departmental goals by accurately following SOPs, effectively communicating results and potential issues, and taking initiative when needed. Lab Technician Job Description
The Lab Technician will be responsible for performing various laboratory tasks, including compounding, injection molding, extrusion, and blown molding according to established procedures. Other key responsibilities include conducting laboratory analyses, documenting results, and maintaining equipment and inventory. Responsibilities:
Perform compounding, injection molding, extrusion, and blown molding according to established procedures. Conduct a variety of laboratory analyses on finished products. Properly document results in laboratory database. Maintain and ensure equipment used stays in good working condition. Maintain complete and open lines of communication with other personnel, functions, or departments to facilitate operations and interaction in the organization. Participate in or lead efforts to maintain necessary stock levels and inventory needs. Perform housekeeping duties as needed. Communicate with Technical Service senior manager for day to day job activities. Keep supervisor informed of status and progress, ensuring that regular and periodical communication takes place. Provide new/updated SDS to SHEQ database. Take part in Live Safety Meeting at SHE department and Pure Safety training by internet. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and keeping abreast of industry trends and related compliance issues within the area of responsibilities. Maintain professional conduct, attendance, and high ethical standards in the work place, complying with company’s policies and procedures. Fulfill mandatory training requirements applicable for department and job duties as appropriate. Other duties as assigned by lab manager. Requirements:
