The Registered Dental Hygienist collaborates with the dental team to deliver comprehensive oral hygiene care to our patients, including general oral health and decay prevention education. Responsibilities include assessing oral health needs, performing both basic and advanced dental cleanings, taking radiographs and digital images, coordinating future patient care with the team, maintaining detailed records, ensuring strict sterilization protocols, and more. The hygienist is instrumental as an ambassador for the practice, promoting dental health and ensuring patient satisfaction through their expertise and excellent communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Patient Education and Communication
Deliver exceptional patient care by addressing concerns and educating on oral health and overall well-being.
Schedule follow-up appointments and provide reminders for continuity of care.
Health Assessment and Documentation
Maintain accurate medical histories and detailed treatment records.
Conduct thorough oral screenings, document findings, and assist in assessments.
Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements in recordkeeping.
Clinical Responsibilities and Competency
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, periodontal charting, and capture radiographs and digital images.
Administer treatments such as root planing, fluoride applications, and sealants following industry standards.
Follow all established clinical Standard Operating Procedures and industry standards of care
Sterilization and Infection Control
Adhere rigorously to sterilization and infection control protocols to uphold a safe environment.
Team Collaboration and Development
Demonstrate professionalism and collaborate effectively with the dental team.
Qualifications
Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
Active State licensure and CPR certification.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
