The Safety Coordinator at Sure Steel, Inc. is responsible for supporting and enhancing the company's safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves conducting safety audits, providing training, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization. The Safety Coordinator II will work closely with the Safety Manager and other team members to implement and monitor safety policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and updating the company’s safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Develop and review job hazard analyses (JHAs) and safety plans for various projects. Conduct safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing safety education. Develop and update training materials to reflect current safety regulations and best practices. Provide guidance on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Maintain detailed records of all safety incidents and prepare reports for management review. Collaborate with the Safety Manager to implement preventative measures and track their effectiveness. Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations. Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and update company policies accordingly. Assist in preparing for and responding to safety audits and inspections by regulatory agencies. Promote safety awareness through regular communication with employees and management. Prepare and distribute safety bulletins, newsletters, and other communications. Participate in safety meetings and committees to discuss and address safety concerns. Identify opportunities for improving safety processes and recommend innovative solutions. Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety into all aspects of operations.
