Overview Grace Church School is a JK–12 independent school located in downtown New York City. An Episcopal school welcoming children of all faiths, Grace values dignity, belonging, and academic excellence.

Position We are seeking a dedicated learning specialist to provide support to our High School students, faculty, and families.

Responsibilities

Provide targeted individual and group learning support and guidance to high school students.

Review external evaluations, conveying recommendations and accommodations into student profiles shared with faculty.

Help families navigate the evaluation process and understand specific recommendations.

Partner with families and the Guidance committee to determine what can be provided by the school; maintain up-to-date documentation.

Collaborate with faculty to differentiate instruction and support students and faculty through co‑teaching and push‑in support.

Collaborate with grade level deans, counselors, and division head to discuss student issues, develop interventions, and monitor progress.

Provide faculty professional development and support in evidence‑based practices aimed at supporting a diverse range of learners.

Consult with and offer support to parents seeking information on their child’s learning needs, additional support, accommodations, evaluations, or other relevant issues.

Coordinate support for students across various in‑school centers and out‑of‑school providers, ensuring cohesion across providers.

Engage in teaching and advising opportunities within the school community.

Attend regular division, department, student support, and supervisory meetings.

Commit to being a learner and participant in addressing issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and anti‑racist education in our curriculum and community.

Qualifications

A master’s degree in education, educational therapy, educational psychology, special education, or a relevant field.

Minimum of three years of experience in educational settings, preferably as a learning specialist.

Experience with evidence‑based practices to provide learning support.

Familiarity with high school academic content spanning humanities to math and science.

Fluency in interpreting and applying results from psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations to school settings.

Strong communication skills.

Well developed organizational skills, including task prioritization, management, and follow‑through.

Familiarity with Blackbaud and/or August Schools is a plus.

Compensation This is a full‑time position with an expected base salary of $68,000–$155,040, commensurate with education and experience on the faculty salary scale.
