As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—all from the comfort of your home. Compensation
Base pay range: $18.00/hr - $40.00/hr. Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects. You’ll earn incrementally higher pay for each session with the same student—reaching up to $40/hour. Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice. Responsibilities
Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required. Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like. Get matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise. Use the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time and focus on teaching. Handle invoicing and payments processing; we manage the logistics. Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring and on-demand tutoring as opportunities arise. What We Look For In a Tutor
Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style. Expertise in Study Skills And Organization and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles. Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education.
