Overview
Durham School Services is hiring a School Bus Driver. Training is provided; no prior experience required. Walk-in interviews are available Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM at 3319 Industrial Ave, Fairbanks, AK 99701. Responsibilities
Provide safe and reliable transportation service by operating a school bus or other vehicle on a fixed or changing route. Maintain on-time performance while prioritizing safety. Assist passengers during boarding and departures as needed; evacuate passengers in an emergency if required. Report accidents or incidents per Company policy and follow all procedures for student and passenger management. Present a neat and professional appearance; complete required paperwork promptly (e.g., route changes, time cards, vehicle repair requests). Maintain cooperative relationships with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and passengers; promote company goodwill. Safely operate vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios, and emergency equipment; perform other duties as assigned. Additional responsibilities may apply for Paratransit Drivers depending on location. Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age (25 for Tennessee School Bus Drivers per state law). Must possess or obtain a valid state license and other required certifications to operate company vehicles. Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; subject to random screenings as a safety-sensitive employee. Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training; practice defensive driving and safe work habits. Compliance with applicable federal, state, and local driver requirements.
