Kroger
Perform general product preparation, clean-up, and stock work in the Meat department and provide customer service. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities
Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, processing, trimming, tenderizing, sealing, packaging, wrapping, bagging, pricing, prefabricating, dating, labeling, scaling, merchandising, selling, serving customers, and other functions in accordance with company policies.
Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained.
Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
Check product quality; ensure proper rotation and freshness.
Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers clean and well organized.
Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and well organized.
Maintain floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
Provide good customer and associate relations.
Communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
Unload trucks, sort orders, and place in proper cooler locations.
Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and health department policies and procedures.
Make a friendly impression on customers.
Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully; greet customers and provide them with quality foods.
Support store sales and profits through retail operations and marketing programs.
Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, especially regarding a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
Perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications Minimum
Willing to work weekends and holidays.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
Safely use cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and operate equipment.
Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly, making positive impressions.
Experience in meat work or similar food preparation roles.
Dependability and integrity reflected in past work records.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
