QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Ability to organize and supervise as assigned by the head coach 2. Previous successful coaching experience in basketball REPORTS TO: Athletic director and head coach, who provide overall objectives and final evaluation SUPERVISES: Students JOB GOAL: To instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success, while promoting socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment. The coach should also seek to upgrade knowledge through clinics, observations, and consultation. GENERAL: 1. Athletic programs influence community image; good sportsmanship and mental health are priorities. 2. The position involves extended hours, injury risks, and due process considerations. 3. Coaches are expected to exercise good judgment in unlisted situations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Know and implement all athletic policies approved by the Royalton School Board. 2. Understand and interpret system, state, and league regulations. 3. Follow proper administrative channels for requests or grievances and attend required meetings. STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Mentor athletes to develop trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. 2. Monitor athletes’ grades and conduct. 3. Attend practices, games, and travel to provide guidance and safety. 4. Communicate training rules and regulations. 5. Manage injury, medical, and emergency protocols. 6.
