Fund Accountant Location:
Charleston, SC Primary Responsibilities:
The Fund Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions related to fund reporting. This includes understanding fund and property management documents and reporting requirements to ensure accurate financial reports for investors and lenders. Skills & Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred) 1-2 years of related accounting experience Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software Strong written and verbal communication skills Customer service skills in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented with the ability to produce high-quality work under deadlines and multitask Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to thrive in high-volume data entry and processing environments Experience working in a schedule that includes in-office work, weekends, and holidays based on business needs Essential Job Functions: Manage the month-end close process for assigned funds, including preparation of work papers and reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts. Produce accurate and timely financial statements to meet all reporting deadlines. Review Accounts Payable invoices for accuracy. Maintain general and sub-ledgers on an accrual basis, reflecting property performance and reporting on a fund/lender basis. Oversee fund cash movements ensuring compliance with lender requirements. Assist with audit support schedules and respond to audit requests promptly. Provide information for investor reporting and fund decision-making. Assist with financial ad hoc requests and software implementation testing. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial statements and reports. Manage fund cash flow and invoice approval processes. Create standardized work papers for month-end close, supporting GAAP/IFRS reporting. Support investor relations with reporting and decision-making information. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or leadership.
