Under the guidance of the Area/Club Director, the Site Coordinator’s primary focus is creating and fostering a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for youth through developing and coaching an innovative, empathetic team and assuring high-quality youth development practices are the core of every youth’s Club experience. Designing, providing, and assuring innovative, engaging, and fun programs empower youth to excel in school, become good citizens, and lead healthy, productive lives. This position may be hired as full-time or part-time depending on the needs of the Club. Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)
Leadership
When identified as designee by Area/Club Director: Develop and or provide programs, activities, and services that Engage, Inspire & Empower youth in the areas of:
Education Sports & Recreation The Arts Health & Wellness Workforce Readiness Character & Leadership
Ensuring youth remain safe at Club and during off-campus activities and experiences safety. All youth feel a sense of belonging. Club site, activities, and programs are inclusive. Fostering a Club climate that is positive, respectful, and empathetic. Strategic Planning
Programs, activities, and experiences support and respond to the current needs of youth. Club climate and programs reflect areas of development and concentration needed. National Youth Outcomes Initiative data is used to improve the Club Experience, program quality, and youth outcomes. Resource Management
Purchase supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for program and activity provision if delegated by Area/Club Director. Ensure equipment, supplies, and Club materials are well maintained. Preserve the quality of all equipment & supplies. Effective personnel management that optimizes the workforce while ensuring quality service delivery The Club team has the training and tools necessary to be successful in their position and positively impact on youth. Partnership Development
Build positive relationships with parents and guardians through open communication, mutual respect, and active engagement. Marketing and Public Relations
Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services, and activities within the Club and the community in conjunction with Marketing/Development plan for the organization. Additional Responsibilities
May be required to drive Club van if meets insurance requirements. Other duties assigned by supervisor or their designee. General BGCT Expectations
Healthy Behavior Modeling – Teaching youth and teens the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle is a BGCT priority. As a result, all staff is expected to model healthy behavior while working with our Club members. Inclusive Environment – BGCT values creating child-friendly environments, where youth and teens of all abilities, races, and ethnicities can be successful and participate. BGCT expects employees to embrace its focus on inclusion of all members. Continuous Learning – Building the capacity of staff is central to BGCT. The organization requires all staff to participate in annual professional development opportunities to cultivate their youth development skills. Safe Spaces – Every staff member shares the responsibility for ensuring BGCT is, and remains, an environment free of sexual, physical, or emotional abuse. Knowledge / Skills Required
High School diploma or GED 2 years’ experience working in a BGC or other youth development organization. 2 years’ experience in personnel management Strong interpersonal and communication skills Organizational and administrative skills for program planning, record keeping, and prioritizing. Management abilities and the capacity to motivate and inspire Club members, their families, and staff. A passion for working with youth and a dedication to their well-being and development.
