Engineer II, System Infrastructure
Join us at Thermo Fisher Scientific in New York, NY to provide in‑house support for end users and corporate infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities
Deliver desktop, macOS, and network support for end users.
Manage incident and request queue, including ticket categorization and prioritization.
Support corporate applications, hardware, and business group applications.
Partner with support groups to resolve issues and escalations.
Maintain IDF/MDF data center health checks and physical equipment.
Update knowledge base articles and provide “smart‑hands” support for computer rooms.
Minimum Requirements
3–5 years of desktop support experience.
Strong understanding of client/server networks, Active Directory, and networking protocols.
Proven problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Desired Skills
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with global colleagues and vendors.
Strong analytical orientation and creative problem‑solving skills.
Knowledge of operations/service delivery and computer troubleshooting.
Team collaboration and customer management experience.
Required & Technical Skills
Diagnose and resolve issues on PCs, laptops, and third‑party applications.
Manage network connectivity, VPN, wireless, Active Directory, and security incidents.
Support physical equipment in data centers, including servers, switches, routers, and printers.
Imaging, configuration, and problem resolution for PCs and servers.
IMAC request fulfillment and printer/scanner installation coordination.
Snow queue management and ticket closure.
Mounting and un‑mounting hardware in data centers.
Maintain IDF/MDF health checks and data center health check list register.
Prioritize and manage multiple assignments and projects.
Identify new tasks and execute with management support.
Software installation at PC and server levels.
Communicate in local language.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $66,000.00–$99,000.00 based in New York, NY.
Variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance.
