Genesis10 is seeking a Data Center Technician for a 7‑month contract position with a leading client located in Milwaukee, WI. The role is 100% onsite. Summary
Deliver an efficient, risk‑driven approach to managing the raised floor areas of the Data Center. Oversee asset lifecycle management, data destruction, and the physical and logical security of vendors operating within the environment. The work is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and deadline‑oriented, requiring adaptability and a strong understanding of large‑scale Data Center operations. Responsibilities
Provide "remote‑hands" support to data center customers. Respond to and resolve support tickets in the system. Deliver Level 1 network support. Test and clean fiber and copper cables. Clean and replace SFPs as needed. Install and maintain the structured cabling system. Maintain and manage inventory of fiber and copper cabling. Quote and order additional materials for cabling and Data Center capacity builds. Rack and stack IT hardware. Maintain records and document issues using the DCIM system (NetTerrain). Operate, monitor, and respond to abnormal conditions within facilities systems. Collaborate with the CEE team on crossover work as needed. Gather inventory and ship network equipment to field offices. Decommission and process returned hardware. Qualifications
Hands‑on experience working in a large‑scale Data Center environment. Strong understanding of data center operations, structured cabling, and asset management. Familiarity with DCIM systems such as NetTerrain preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities. Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position. Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no C2C).
