Job Role:
The Manager, Sports Training and Competition, is responsible for creating quality competition opportunities and ensuring year-round training options exist for athletes in Martin County. This position will also lead SOFL’s school-based programming and volunteer outreach in Martin County.
Qualifications:
BS/BA preferred 5+ year’s office experience Excellent written, communication and presentation skills Extensive computer experience in word processing, database input and management Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects including the handling of routine administrative paperwork, phone calls and filing. Produce ad hoc reports as required Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as collaboratively as a team member Knowledge of GMS (Special Olympics software) is preferred Regular attendance required
Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and implementation of all Special Olympic Florida competitions and trainings in Martin County. Work collaboratively with the Sr. Manager, Sports Training & Competition to prepare and execute area and regional competitions Conduct audits to ensure program compliance with policies and procedures Track athlete participation per sport to support program growth in Martin County Collaborate with the Sr. Manager of Sports Training and Competition to understand uniform, equipment, and supply needs and place orders Manage delegation registration at area and regional competitions and perform other duties as assigned at area and regional competitions Assist in securing training and competition site venues, insurance, volunteer recruitment and EMT services Following each Area and Regional Game, enter results and send post games reports Lead all delegation members in the preparation for State Games: Submit housing forms, disseminate schedules, memos, and information from the State Office Maintain current knowledge of Special Olympics Florida sports rules, policies and procedures Responsible for outreach to Martin County schools in order implement SOFL programming Responsible for recruiting athletes for both community-based and school-based programs in Martin County Responsible for community and volunteer outreach in Martin County Other duties as assigned
Special Requirements:
Must be able to travel and complete weekend and evening duties as assigned Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
