Overview
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an opening for a Full-Time Housekeeper / Set-Up Team Member at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland. The role involves cleaning, maintaining, and preparing the facility for events and daily operations, including setting/striking tables, chairs, staging, air walls, barricades, pipe and drape, dance floor, and other event-related inventory. Responsibilities may also include preventative maintenance, cleaning, replenishing supplies, and operating machinery and motorized equipment as trained. Shift:
2nd shift, 2:30pm – 11:00pm (hours may vary with events)
Responsibilities
Perform event-related tasks before, during, and after events, including setting/striking tables, chairs, staging, air walls, barricades, pipe and drape, dance floor, and other inventory as needed.
Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, vacuum, clean surfaces, empty trash, and operate trash and recycling compactors as directed.
Clean and maintain various areas throughout the facility; keep supervisor/manager informed of work status and review work orders.
Maintain organized supply rooms and equipment; store event-related equipment properly.
Assist with cleaning and minor maintenance of cleaning and housekeeping machinery and equipment.
Perform deep cleaning and housekeeping projects (e.g., carpet extraction, floor stripping, sanitization, waste removal, window cleaning) as directed.
Report damages to equipment promptly; perform preventative maintenance on equipment and storage areas.
Maintain inventory logs and department checklists; foster good relationships with staff.
Adhere to facility rules, safety programs, policies and procedures; handle mail/deliveries to the loading dock as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required; must be at least 18 years old.
6 months’ housekeeping or custodial experience preferred.
Familiarity with basic cleaning products, tools, and practices; experience in a similar facility is a plus.
Valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain one for equipment operation.
Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate via radio.
Professional appearance and ability to work with or without supervision; ability to follow directions and complete tasks on time.
Ability to operate cleaning machines and equipment; teamwork and independent work capability.
Flexibility to work evenings/nights, holidays, and weekends based on event activity.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions The position requires indoor work with variable noise levels and may involve outdoor exposure to weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
Constant walking and standing; climb stairs frequently; kneeling.
Lift, carry, push/pull items up to 50 lbs.
Reach above/below waist; good vision, hearing, and speech for public interactions.
Hours of Work Hours vary by business needs and events. Shift times may include irregular, extended hours, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
