Midlands Technical College is a public, multi-campus, two-year college serving the Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties of South Carolina. MTC offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates and aims to create innovative learning environments, promote student and business success, drive economic vitality, and enhance quality of life. This position is located on various campuses in the Social and Behavioral Sciences department.
Job Responsibilities
Teaches courses from our course offerings, which include General Psychology (PSY 201), Human Growth and Development (PSY 203), Social Psychology (PSY 225), Personality Psychology (PSY 220), Behavior Modification (PSY 218) and Abnormal Psychology (PSY 212). Courses may be delivered in-person on campus or at off-campus sites, synchronously via Zoom, or asynchronously online via D2L Bright Space. The course and, by extension, the instructor are under the purview of MTC and the supervision of the appropriate MTC Department Chair/Program Director. The instructor is expected to comply with all MTC policies and procedures. The course(s) should contain the required student learning outcomes, along with assessment and evaluation of those outcomes and instructional effectiveness. Minimum And Additional Requirements
Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Psychology. High school teachers at participating high schools who desire to teach MTC courses must be vetted by the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at MTC. College and/or high school teaching experience and two years work experience. Ability to teach during daytime or evening hours on Beltline or Airport Campus. Experience teaching synchronous classes via Zoom. Experience using the D2L Brightspace LMS. Seniority level
