Job Overview

The District Sales Manager leads the sales of the organization’s products within a specified district or major geographical area. The role sells products and services using technical and customer knowledge to generate revenue and contributes to product marketing, market planning, and technical development. Essential Functions

Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals. Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals. Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates. Advises dealers and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques. Assigns sales territory to sales representatives. Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales. Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product. Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives. Meets with key clients to maintain relationships and negotiate and close deals. Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units. Analyzes and controls expenditures of district to conform to budgetary requirements. Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion. Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition. Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work. Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment and rental industry. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Exceptional customer service and relationship building skills. Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills. Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to coach and mentor less senior sales staff. Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Education and Experience

Five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required. High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities

Directs and manages the sales team; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Travel and Physical Requirements

Up to 50% travel required; valid driver’s license required. Position involves extended periods in a stationary position; occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery and file cabinets. Must be able to exchange accurate information and respond to visual, auditory, and other signals. Work Environment

Primarily indoors in a professional office environment; occasionally works outdoors with exposure to temperature variations and hazardous materials. Benefits

Salary range: $60,000 – $100,000 (Coppell, TX) or $155,000 – $160,000 (Dallas‑Fort Worth Metroplex). Full-time position. Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level. Job function: Sales and Business Development. Industry: Construction. EEO Statement
