Eating Disorder Technician 3 is responsible for assisting and supporting patients through the entire treatment experience from admission through discharge. Eating Disorder Technician 3 is responsible for contributing insightful, practical, and meaningful information to the treatment planning process. Eating Disorder Technician 3 responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, providing milieu interventions, leading psychoeducational and process-oriented therapy groups, facilitate clinical assessments, and other case management tasks, as assigned. Essential Job Functions: Supports patient during admission processes. This may include checking in patient belongings, acclimating patient to the program and milieu. Effectively and professionally communicates with families/loved ones, as appropriate. Completes assigned assessments within 24 hours of admission and accompanying notes in medical record. Able to effectively and professionally establish rapport with patients. Provides milieu management throughout the treatment experience and communicates with all team members. Assists in the implementation of the comprehensive treatment plan in the milieu. Assists and supports patients in day to day activities including, but not limited to: waking routines, morning hygiene, meals, nighttime routine, evening hygiene, bathroom observations, and free time. May attend treatment team meeting or provide verbal report to therapists before meeting to contribute insight on patients’ progress as experienced in the milieu environment. Contributes to the well-being of all patients by serving as a positive role model. Engages in brief “check ins” wherein patients are provided with support and guidance in using coping skills. Responsible for facilitating psychoeducational and therapy groups for the expected length of time identified in the program schedule. Supervises and supports patients on community outings. Objectively and accurately documents patient progress on a daily basis. Assists with discharge process. Works during meal periods to therapeutic support and coping skills to patients. Makes timely requests for any absences and ensures coverage for any scheduled shift. May support with training of new employees. Collaborates with Program Therapists and Program Director to complete milieu interventions with patients throughout their treatment stay. Facilitates therapy sessions and clinical assessments, as assigned. Conducts utilization reviews and other case management activities required for patient success. Assists with discharge and aftercare planning for patients. Completes all documentation timely and effectively in the patients’ medical record. Performs any other assigned and/or requested duties. Participates in technician on-call rotation three to four weekends per year.
