for the
Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Provides care to patients with intractable seizure disorder problems. Monitors and reports seizures. Operates epilepsy monitoring and computer equipment. Performs special treatments associated with the care of acutely ill patients with seizures. Hours Full-time, 40 hours per week Rotating 10-hour shifts Weekends required Consistent schedule in our Outpatient Lab with the option to work holidays, weekend, or overtime based on preference Experience/Requirements
for the EEG Technologist II High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Graduation from a CAAHEP/ABHES accredited END program or an Associate's degree or higher strongly preferred. Certification by ABRET, or its equivalent. A minimum of two years of work experience as an EEG Technician or equivalent if AMA approved EEG program was not completed. BLS certification Knowledge/Skills
for the EEG Technologist II Understanding of Neurophysiology procedures, including electroencephalography and operative implants; 1–2 years at Technologist I level to acquire proficiency. Knowledge of electrographic seizures and brainwaves; ability to identify artifacts. Ability to operate computer and video equipment; set up and maintain electrodes. Ability to perform testing independently and interpret results accurately. Analytical ability to determine testing procedures, calibrate equipment, troubleshoot, and prepare reports. Interpersonal skills to communicate with patients, physicians, and staff. Ability to respond to acute medical situations, e.g., convulsive seizures.
