Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities, and is focused on EHS for various spaceflight systems at the Engine and Jemison Manufacturing facility. The EHS team also supports the Blue Origin - Marshal Space Flight Center (MSFC) – Test Stand, and Blue Batteries (Missouri) as necessary. Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety, health, and environmental regulations at the Huntsville, AL facilities. Prepare and submit reports to federal and state regulatory agencies as required. Continually update and ensure compliance with the Blue Origin Health and Safety Manual. Create, update, and coordinate emergency response plans with state and local emergency planning committees. Indoctrinate new employees on our Safety Program. Manage hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, and recycling activities for the Huntsville site. Manage the injury/illness and near miss reporting process. Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions. Develop, update, and deliver EHS training. Serve as site focal point for safety issues and concerns. Evaluate operations for continuous process improvement and implementation of preventive action measures. Support development of job hazard analyses. Provide domain expertise to engineering and production resources related to EHS. Provide EHS related input for building design and operations. Perform periodic audits of our Safety Programs. Required Qualifications
Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or occupational safety Knowledge of applicable safety and Alabama environmental regulations Knowledge of Process Safety Management methods Knowledge of close call reporting practices and processes Good analytical skills and attention to details, technical writing, with an ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information Indoctrinate new employees on our EHS Program Candidate must be able to lift/carry up to fifty pounds. Must be able to physically climb multiple flights of stairs, withstand prolonged standing, and work in adverse weather conditions Willing to support long hours, shift work, and weekends as needed 4+ years total work 2+ proven years work experience in operational aerospace environment, manufacturing, or chemical industry Preferred Qualifications
10+ years total work 5+ years work experience in operational aerospace environment, manufacturing, or chemical industry Expertise in Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification Culture and Diversity
