03 / 21 / 2025 Description We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis for future consideration for part-time instructors in this discipline at any of our three colleges (Oxnard, Moorpark, and Ventura). Applications submitted to this pool will be kept on file for the Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026 semesters and may be considered if a vacancy becomes available within the academic year. If you have applied to previous pools in this discipline, you will need to reapply to this pool to continue being considered. WHAT YOU'LL DO Under the general direction of a dean, an Instructor (Non-Contact / Temporary) provides classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds to facilitate their academic or vocational objectives. In accordance with Education Code sections 87482.5, Instructors (Non-Contract / Temporary) may be employed up to 67% of a full-time assignment. WHO WE ARE The Ventura County Community College District (VCCCD) serves residents throughout Ventura County through its three colleges: Moorpark College, Oxnard College, and Ventura College. Representative Duties Deliver academic instruction via lectures, labs, or performance courses; assess and develop students' cognitive, communication, and higher-order thinking skills through various activities. Advise students on programs of study, transfer opportunities, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services as needed. Evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback, and assess achievement of course objectives and student learning outcomes. Plan and organize instruction based on approved course outlines and student learning outcomes; implement performance objectives. Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and curriculum; submit reports on time. Choose instructional materials collaboratively, order supplies, and update course content regularly to reflect current industry developments. Collaborate on curriculum development and participate in departmental or district meetings; may provide work direction to others. Minimum Qualifications Possess the minimum qualifications as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors, which include: Any bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of professional experience, or Any associate degree plus six years of professional experience, or Possession of an appropriate California Community College Credential. All coursework must be from an accredited institution. Candidates with foreign coursework must include a foreign transcript evaluation. Equivalency considerations are available; applicants should submit the Supplemental Questionnaire for Equivalency if their degree titles do not exactly match the stated minimum qualifications.
