Monroe Community College is seeking a Full-time, Tenure Track, Faculty member for the Applied Technologies Department. The successful candidate will bring expertise in HVAC/R to MCC and will be responsible for teaching courses in the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning program. Responsibilities: Teach classes, develop new educational materials, assist with curriculum review and assessment, perform professional duties, and participate in departmental and institutional functions. Demonstrate and maintain current subject area knowledge. Provide students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subjects. Identify learning objectives and evaluate student performance based on course learning objectives. Prepare lesson plans and create instructional materials and activities for student engagement. Encourage students' participation in class activities. Work with external companies and enrolled students in the Co-op experience course. Provide students with assistance and guidance regarding the educational program and appropriate conduct. Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other records according to department and College guidelines. Advise students concerning academic, career, and related issues. Assist the department with student recruitment, enrollment, and placement. Assist the department with student retention and completion initiatives. Assist with development, review, and revision of department curriculum, including assessment of student learning and program review. Develop innovative teaching pedagogies to facilitate learning. Incorporate high-impact teaching practices into course design. Attend department meetings as a contributing member. Adhere to all College and departmental policies. Requirements: Earned associate's degree or higher in HVAC/R from a regionally accredited higher education institution with 5 years' experience; or possess a Journeyman's card/certificate from a formal Apprenticeship Program; or a minimum of 10 years' experience in the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning Industry. Demonstrated ability to install, maintain, repair, and service HVAC systems commonly encountered in a variety of HVAC field applications. EPA 608 Universal Refrigeration License. Ability to teach courses in the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning program. Commitment to supporting an inclusive campus environment. Preferred Qualifications: Earned bachelor's or master's degree in a related field and/or education from a regionally accredited higher education institution. College-level teaching experience. Knowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategies. Awareness of the potential value of technology as a tool for teaching. Experience and/or interest in developing and teaching online courses. Experience with computerized student record management. Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish or other languages proficiently. Monroe Community College is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. $45,000 - $63,000 per year, based on experience and internal equity. MCC offers a Flexible Work Policy for benefit-eligible employees, which includes flextime/staggered shifts, remote work/telecommuting, and compressed work schedules.
