Overview

Kinesiology Instructor, Part-time Adjunct Pool – ESCC. This is a part-time, hourly adjunct pool used to staff assignments for Cerro Coso Community College. The starting salary is $67.00 per hour; hourly rate may vary based on assignment type and the LHE formula. The district accepts applications on a continuous basis; qualified applicants may be contacted when needs arise. Applications remain active for up to two years. Responsibilities

Provide instruction in a full range of kinesiology topics. Teach at various campus sites and, as needed, day or evening classes, weekends, large classes, distance learning, or using multiple teaching methodologies. Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Science department. Maintain subject matter currency; develop and revise curriculum; use computer and multimedia technology. Engage in collegial activities within the department, college, and discipline. Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education; OR Bachelor’s degree in any of the above, AND Master’s degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy; OR Equivalent qualifications as determined by the district (applicants may request an equivalence evaluation using the appropriate form and supporting documents). Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations is required. Note: Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions. Foreign degrees must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service. Meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

Ability to work effectively with colleagues in a diverse environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning, and service. Ability to work with students with a wide range of academic and vocational goals. Ability to develop and deliver curriculum using multiple modalities. Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges and universities. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to assess student learning outcomes. Knowledge of computers and openness to new technologies relevant to the program.
