Inside Higher Ed invites applications for the Biology – Full-Time, Non‑Tenure Track Lecturer position.
Position Overview Lecturer provides a quality learning experience for students. Lecturer faculty perform instruction‑related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the lecturer faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning. Teaches, advises, mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested.
Responsibilities
Teach 12 credit hours of day/evening courses in Biology for Majors: Principles Lab.
Secondary teaching of Biology for Majors: Principles lecture, General Biology lecture and/or lab, and other courses as needed in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online formats.
Coordinate Biology for Majors: Principles Laboratories.
Maintain student records and departmental reports according to university policies.
Participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as requested.
Qualifications
Earned Master’s degree in Biology or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Teaching experience in introductory majors or non‑majors biology preferred.
Experience as instructor of record for lecture or laboratory preferred.
Lab coordination experience preferred.
Experience Required Master’s degree in Biology or related field. Teaching experience as instructor of record for lecture or laboratory.
Experience Preferred Teaching experience in introductory biology majors or non‑majors. Lab coordination experience.
