JOB SUMMARY
—Surgical Oncology The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides general and specialty medical and/or surgical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. The APP will have an opportunity to practice autonomously and collaboratively within their established scope. All TGH team members are responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. RESPONSIBILITIES
— Surgical Oncology Assess and manage treatment for patients with a variety of surgical oncology conditions including clinic consultations for new patients and follow-up consultations. Pre & post operative evaluation of surgical oncology patients. Communicate with primary & multidisciplinary team to collaborate on the management of surgical oncology diagnoses. Request, interpret and evaluate diagnostic and laboratory tests and take appropriate actions as medically indicated in accordance with departmental protocols. Identify and report any specific signs and symptoms, problems or potential problems requiring further assessment, communication and/or intervention to promote positive outcomes. Work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Demonstrate current knowledge and level of expertise utilizing evidence and theory-based practice, infection control standards and clinical evaluations in providing care to clients in clinic or hospital-based settings, as evidenced by following established protocols. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic. Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment. Strong written and oral communication skills. Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution abilities. QUALIFICATIONS Current licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with Acute Care certification or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida. Experience in oncology or care of surgical patients is preferred. Extremely motivated new graduates may be considered for a position in our APP fellowship program to support their transition to practice. Primary Location
